Short answers to the questions we hear most.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan gives you 1,500 lookups a day with every field included, and you don't need a card. You can also call the API without a key at up to 30 lookups a minute.
Do paid plans get more data?
No. Every plan, and every request without a key, gets the same complete response. Paid plans give you more lookups a day. See Plans and billing.
Does it support IPv6?
Yes. Send any IPv4 or IPv6 address in the path: /v1/lookup/2001:4860:4860::8888.
How fresh is the data?
Threat feeds and crawler ranges are refreshed daily, VPN and proxy probes every two days, routing data every three days, and WHOIS records weekly. See How a lookup works.
Can I call the API from a browser?
Don't put your API key in front-end code, because anyone could copy it and use your quota. Call the API from your server and pass the result to your page.
Can I look up several IPs in one request?
The API takes one address per request. Send one request per address, and cache the results for addresses you see often.
How is the fraud score worked out?
It adds up weighted signals, like a known VPN server or a blocklisted datacenter, and subtracts for reassuring ones, like a residential ISP or a verified crawler. scoring.detection_methods lists every signal that fired. See scoring.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Cancel from Manage subscription in Billing. You keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for, then move back to Free.
