Every plan gets the same response with every field. Only the volume changes. See Plans and billing.

Checking your usage

Every response carries two headers:

  • X-RateLimit-Limit: your limit, or unlimited.
  • X-RateLimit-Remaining: how many lookups you have left in the current window.

The dashboard shows the same numbers, plus your requests over the last 7, 30 or 90 days.

When you go over

You get 429 Too Many Requests with a Retry-After header: the number of seconds until you can try again. With a key, that's the time until 00:00 UTC.

{ "message": "Daily limit reached. Contact sales@geoiphub.com for a Custom plan with higher limits." }

Failed lookups and lookups over the limit are counted in your dashboard, so you can see when you're running out.

Tips

  • Cache results for the addresses you see often. Most data changes daily at most.
  • Look up once per session, not on every page view.
  • Back off on 429: wait for Retry-After instead of retrying in a loop.
